PatchAmp Distribution Systems Used at Miss Universe Pageant June 2, 2004 Quito, Ecuador - PatchAmp's new Multirate HD/SD DA was recently selected to handle all of the HD digital video and digital audio distribution requirements of the Miss Universe pageant telecast live from Ecuador. The two-hour NBC telecast drew an estimated worldwide viewing audience of more than 600 hundred million viewers in over 180 countries. The PatchAmp distribution systems where implemented in All Mobile Video's "MATRIX Flypack System" which was used to produce the live event. AMV chose these frames for their proven reliability and considerably high density, which makes them perfect for global travel. Given the unique requirements of the MATRIX Flypack System, AMV needed more than just the typical distribution solution, which would have consumed too much real-estate in the system and would have been impossible to wire. The density of PatchAmp's distribution amplifier modules and frames gave AMV the ability to have up to 256 channels of HD/SD distribution in 16 rack units and 128 channels of digital audio along with 128 channels of analog audio in 8 rack units. The nature of such high profile live events calls for uncompromised reliability and signal performance of equipment, especially in the core distribution systems. Look to PatchAmp for performance, quality, flexibility and affordability when using or planning the transition to high definition video. About All Mobile Video (AMV) - AMV is the country's premier provider of end-to-end video and audio solutions for entertainment, sports, and news programming and events, including production mobile units, soundstages, post facilities, and rentals
